Billions of bases, millions of sequences, thousands of genes: how do they all work together to form living beings? How does their working together lead to a turnip in one case and a mouse in another? Answers to these and related questions require the ability to analyze large amounts of information. Biological information handling and analysis is the realm of bioinformatics. OSU scientists have help in dealing with the flurry of new information through a Bioinformatics resource facility, BioinfOSU, recently established at OSU. It cooperates closely with the Recombinant DNA/Protein Resource Facility and the OSU Microarray Core Facility, facilities that help generate the reams of information that must be dealt with.

These pages provide you with links to a range of Bioinformatic resources. Resources that have been locally developed by people associated with the facility are featured under software tools . Applications made available campus-wide through license agreements or local installations can also be found there. What we do not offer, likely is offered through sister facilities, both at OSU and at other locations in Oklahoma. What has been going on and what is scheduled to happen are covered under news . This includes several workshop programs. Lastly, about us describes who we are, how we operate and how to contact us.
